The music stream gets "stuck" at the end of each song, I have to hit "Stop" then "Start" again to go to the next song. Sometimes, the whole computer stops responding. I am guessing maybe this is a VLC problem, will try another player to see if I get the same result.

Player: VLC 0.8.5 on Windows XP Home Edition SP2
Stream: flac
Server: Ubuntu Dapper
JBoss 4.0.4GA AS

Well WinAmp switches tracks perfectly, so I guess VLC is the problem. Don't you love it when you answer your own question?

Alternatively, you can plug in a transcoder which converts from flac to mp3 on the fly. In general, mp3 is the most "streamer-friendly" format, and is supported best by most players. (Also, you would save a lot of bandwidth, if that's an issue).
