3.5 Upgrade Issues

Postby mixmaster » Thu Nov 13, 2008 6:23 pm

After I got my initial issue fixed with CPU spiking when clicking a collection by making each genre folder a music share I had the system working fine, had two friends streaming music etc. Then I upgraded to 3.5. Now when I login, the CPU spikes to 60%, (maxed out on one CPU) and then after what seems like a timeout or something, the CPU finally drops down to 0%, and the main frame and the sidebar frame are both empty. Sometimes it will through the error pasted below. If I click anything, then it becomes non-responsive until I restart the service.

You tried to access the address http://localhost:97/nowPlaying.view?, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.
Make sure your Internet connection is active and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working.

So basically, I uninstalled and reinstalled and rebuilt my server, seems to be working now, but I still experience really long load times (a minute plus), on the left frame, when I log in. At least however, it didn't go down.

Just FYI, this is on a 543 GB collection w/ 105,000+ files.

Um, er, well, it's back. I can't login again without it throwing OOM errors in the left frame, so it's unusable. I even tried upping the memory to 128 instead of 64 in the settings, but it still said 63 of 63 megs used. I mean, I can login, but when I do it throws the error and I never get to choose an artist. What's the memory setting supposed to do exactly and what all needs to be done in order for it to take effect? I restarted the service twice and the application itself consumes way more than the setting specifies.

EDIT: I take that back, the settings dialog is a little confusing. I'm so used to the OK button saving, but you need to click save then okay. So I'm up to 128 MB and logged in (let's hope it lasts), but i'm still confused as to what exactly the setting is doing.
