Linux standalone upgrade procedure?

Postby brum » Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:15 am

Hi,

Following another thread that more dealt with Windows upgrading, I upgraded my Linux standalone installation by stopping the service and just overwriting the JAR and WAR file. After this Subsonic still reports it being version 3.4.

Should I've done something more/different?

TIA,

I re-read the thread and thought that deleting the 'jetty' folder was the key.

After trying that I simply deleted all files except subsonic.sh and replaced them with the new ones. Although I get the tray popup saying thet Subsonic is now running, going to the URL gives an jetty error.

Looking more closely at the java output it says quite in the beginning that it cannot locate subsonic.war. Later in the output there are errors about not finding some vm*.exe (don't remember the exact name, just that it was something Windows-related).

Any thoughts?

Rgds,

I would like to give this a bump. I'm currently on 3.5 standalone and would very much like to upgrade to 3.6. Is there any way to upgrade from 3.5 standalone to 3.6 standalone, while maintaining user settings and configuration - or conversely, is there any means to export/mine out even just the user settings? I'm more than willing to re-do the config, but the usernames/password settings I need to back up in full.

Long time reader, first time poster and I'm also unfortunately very n00b. And of course goes without saying, thank you Sindre for this amazing piece of software!
