Running Service without root account
Posted: Sat Jan 25, 2014 8:03 pmProblem Description: I've just installed a fresh copy of Subsonic on an Ubuntu server and it's running fine. The only issue is that I'm getting the "Warning! The Subsonic process is running as the root user." message.
I set up the server using these excellent instructions:

The only problem I encountered in the process was that I had to manually create a "/tmp/subsonic" in order to change the ownership of the directory.
My etc/deefault/subsonic config file has only two lines in it:
So, any clues why the service appears to be ignoring the user I set for it, and defaulting to root?
Troubleshooting Steps: Err. None really, other than repeatedly checking to confirm that the account exists and the variable is spelled right. Oh, and I tried restarting the service without sudo to see if that was where it picked up the root access, but the command requires root to run.

Server Version: (jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_51, Linux (40.6 MB / 64.5 MB))
