question about mac/pc compatability

Postby balaszi » Thu Dec 04, 2008 6:45 am

Hello there,

I'm a new user and must admit I don't know much about IT stuff. I've loaded the windows version of Subsonic succesfully onto my pc, and even got it to recognize my entire mp3 collection...I just can't seem to access it on my powerbook g4 lap top.

I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to do, needless to say I'm rather confused by everything.

Details:
Subsonic is loaded on my home pc, running xp pro sp2, laptop is running osx 10.4.11, trying to access subsonic through firefox. Does it matter that my isp gives me a dynamic ip adress? If so, can I use a service like dynDNS with subsonic?

I'm sure I'm missing something. If there were some more documentation for newbies like myself, it would extremely helpful.

Thanks.

Do a search on the forum for "dyndns" and you'll find quite a few comments on how to make this work. Use the Search link near the top of this page.
