I have been using subsonic for a few years now and have a number of different implementations for different purposes.

I have one that is connected to my multi-room home stereo to play thru speakers I have througout my house. I am running Subsonic on a windows PC that is connected directly to the multi-room stereo controller. I then use different apps (UltraSonic is my current favorite) to control the jukebox player.

From time to time I want to listen to something that is not in my media library. Often I use a youtube app on my phone or laptop to listen to a new song.

I have been looking for options to choose a youtube video on my android device o rPC and have the audio play on my windows laptop thru my home stereo. I have been scouring the internet and trying a number of things, but nothing really seems to work. Other than connecting via remote desktop and launching youtube in a browser (pain in the ars) I havent found a way to get it to work.

Has anyone figured out a way to use Subsonic to do this, or have any other tips/tricks to play youtube in jukebox mode?

You could install shairport or Airfoil Speakers on the computer, and install AirStream on your Android. I use this on one of my subsonic which has multiple sound cards so there's no conflict. Or buy a Chromecast.
