locale setting for subsonic

Postby nac_zero » Sun Mar 23, 2014 2:44 am

Hi all,

I've been looking for the way to set local locale setting on subsonic to write correct time on subsonic log.
I installed subsonic 4.9 on QNAP/QTS4.05.
On QTS4.05, $LANG and $LC_ALL are set to en_US.UTF-8. I don't want to change these base locale setting.
But I want to set another local locale for my subsonic only.
I inserted "export LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8" into subsonic start up script(/usr/bin/subsonic) and it doesn't work.
And I also added java option of local setting in start up script, like this, JAVA="${JAVA} -Duser.language=ja -Duser.country=JP", it also doesn't work.
Is there any way to set locale properly and Where should I check?

Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I know that this topic may be a kind of FAQ and the solution became clear, but I'm struggling with this problem;
Subsonic scans my directories, but UTF-8/Japanese/International Character directories are not added to the database.

As other threads and FAQ pages said,
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Subsonic
http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3972
http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4063

I'm sure that the locale setting in the start-up script for subsonic:
Code: Select all
export LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8
export LC_COLLATE=${LANG}
export LC_CTYPE=${LANG}
export LC_MESSAGES=${LANG}
export LC_MONETARY=${LANG}
export LC_NUMERIC=${LANG}
export LC_TIME=${LANG}
export LC_ALL=${LANG}

However, subsonic skips the files.
Anyone has any idea? Or is there any way to know where the locale setting works properly or not, during scanning files.
(Subsonic's error messages, debug files, debug messages and so on.)

My Environment:
H/W QNAP 4.0.5
OS QTS
uname -a
Linux QNAP 2.6.33.2 #1 Sat Apr 12 07:12:04 CST 2014 armv5tel unknown

Thank you.
