Transcoded m4a not playing

Hello,

I have Subsonic 4.9 (build 3819) running in a FreeNAS 9.2.1.1. I'm using all default installation settings. I have no problems playing flac, mp3, shn, ape, or even lossy m4a audio files in the Subsonic Web client. However, when I try to play lossless m4a audio files, it appears to start playing, but never moves off 00:00. These are the log entries:

I've read numerous threads and other posts, but nothing that seems to be a solution to the same problem. I've only just started learning (both FreeNAS and Subsonic), so would greatly appreciate help please.

This is also broken on the OSX release and the lack of solution to this problem is disheartening

this has broken subsonic for a lot of my family
