Folks, I've been using Subsonic for many years, but a corruption just forced me to completely uninstall and reinstall both Subsonic and Java (deleting the database didn't solve it). I'm using the current beta of Subsonic and the current version of Java, as well as the current version of Flash Player. The problem that forced the reinstall is that the service would inexplicably stop every 10 minutes or so. I couldn't even get through a media library scan. The only thing I carried over from my old installation was my subsonic.script file.
Reinstalling both Java and Subsonic appeared to solve that issue -- the service is now running consistently. However, now when using Subsonic's web interface any loaded song won't play. The notification of the song that's supposedly starting to play pops up, the vertical bars appear next to the song title in the playlist to indicate that it's playing, but nothing happens. About the only way that I can get anything to happen is to move the web player's scrub bar to somewhere within the song. It then starts playing, but despite the position of the scrub bar it starts from the beginning and plays to the end, which means that the scrub bar position is inaccurate (i.e., it keeps playing once the scrub bar reaches the end). Furthermore it then repeats this behavior and freezes again when it encounters the next song in the playlist.
This happens both on my Win 8.1 laptop, and on the Vista desktop that houses the Subsonic server. It occurs with both Firefox and IE. Using my Android to play the server in Jukebox mode, however, works fine.
I'm out of ideas. Does anyone have any?
