HTTPS breaks mobile streaming of video

Postby rdsqc22 » Tue Jul 22, 2014 12:28 am

I have a registered Subsonic server running on Ubuntu linux, and a couple of android devices with the lastest Subsonic app off of Fdroid on them. I enabled HTTPS on my server, but I found that when I did so, I was no longer able to properly stream video to my android devices. I prefer to use VLC over MXplayer on Android, and it works all lovely when my server is on HTTP, but breaks completely on HTTPS. MXplayer will frequently break on many video files, and for others it will play video but no audio.

The server is currently on the latest 5.0 beta, but had the same problem when tested on 4.9 as well.

Disabling HTTPS of course fixes these problems, but I would prefer to have it enabled. Is there any solution to this? Thanks.

Attempting to stream over HTTPS to VLC causes nothing whatsoever to be written into subsonic.log. Trying to stream to MXplayer results in an error such as this:
