Unable to stream @ work

When I try to connect to my Subsonic server from work I can see the content of my server including album covers and all but I'm unable to play any of the music.
I tried both the standard web interface and Jamstash and both gave me the same results.
Pandora and other music stream services works just fine.

Could it be that out originization's IT blocks music streaming by Subsonic only?

As far as you run the server on a standard port like 443 or 80, this should be working. I can stream music and videos without issues when at work and my company use to block a lot of ports here. On what port are you running subsonic?

I'm using port 4040.

I think out IT is using some block method that identifies Subsonic as http-audio and won't allow it.

I now get the following message when I try to play anything from Subsonic:
Application Blocked
Access to the application you were trying to use has been blocked in accordance with company policy. Please contact your system administrator if you believe this is in error.
User: XX.XX.XX.XX
Application: http-audio

Try to go with secure (port 443), that way they might not be able to detect what data you are transferring from your server.
