3.6 fails for me

Postby Lozzy » Wed Jan 14, 2009 4:49 pm

I've been using 3.5 beta2 for a while now - very nice.
When i tried 3.6 betas 1 & 2 i get the same problem in both cases, no initial web page.
In both IE and Firefox, they just sit there waiting to connect and eventually time out.
I did the usual port number change and a restart but nada...anyone else had this problem?

I did all of the above, but still no luck.

Now the full 3.6 is out, and it's behaving the same.
I run windows 2000 incidentally.

Anyone else having this problem??

Could you please check the logs:

c:\Program Files\Subsonic\log\subsonic-service.log
c:\subsonic\subsonic.log

Hm, everything looks normal in the logs.

And you get nothing if you go to http://localhost:8080/ ?

I get firefox or IE sitting there..."loading" but no resulting page.

re the logs, should I not worry about the warning lines at the bottom of the agent log then?

Had same problem overhere (Subsonic on WinXP)
Had to open port 8081 on Win Firewall, in V3.5 just had to give subsonic permission.
After opening port 8081 all okay (in- and ext player doesn't work, but I'll ask that in an other topic)

Found the problem with the firewall:

In last version the exe file was subsonic.exe this is now changed in subsonic-service.exe

So you have to add the new exe file to your Win Firewall

Ok, thanks for the tip Jannuh.

Sadly since i'm running windows 2000, the firewall isn't the issue, since it doesn't have one built in :)

Until Sindre gets back to me with a solution, or things to try, I'm stuck on version 3.5 since that works.

It's got to be something that got changed between 3.5 and 3.6

My last solution with the exe file & firewall "fooled"Subs. for 1 day ;-)

In testing I deleted the cookie, no result.. (and several other things..)
I did go to Subs. via my external link, a subdomain of my privat domain; now I did go to Sub via my own's server-pc ip numer, everything went smooth, als via internal ip adress.

It seems other users have no problems with this issue, jsut local PC :-)
