Configure media folders on raspberry pi server

Postby wilsondk » Sat Feb 07, 2015 7:25 pm

I have followed the Lifehacker tutorial for building Subsonic on the Raspberry Pi. Everything is running, and I now want to configure the media folders on my new Subsonic instance. I currently have my music on a Windows share. If I enter the UNC path of the share in the Media Folders page, it does not find the folder. On the windows share, I have given "Everyone" full control, and also created a user on the windows machine that matched the user under which I am running Subsonic on the Pi (svcsubsonic) and gave it the same password. I'm more of a Windows guy than a Linux guy, so I'm sure I'm missing something in connecting the Pi to the windows share. Can someone assist me or point me towards a tutorial for this? Thanks!

I just wanted to follow up that I figured it out! Following the instructions from this page (http://geeks.noeit.com/mount-an-smb-net ... pberry-pi/), I mounted the SMB share at the OS level and then used the mount point path in the Subsonic Media Folders setting. Subsonic was able to find and scan the share without issue. Hopefully this helps anyone else.
