Subsonic Forum

In the past, I was running subsonic on my linux mint box without issue - I've had it running for several years now. We decided that we didn't want to be running a pc all the time, so bought a readyNAS 104. Got the subsonic app and I can run it from the NAS just fine. But when I attempt to connect to it from the internet, using the name I gave it, i get the error message:
Status: Failed to test web address. subsonic.org (UnknownHostException) I have also tried connecting via IP address, to no avail.

So, what I did was stopped using the old machine and put my old license key onto my NAS (I have rebuilt my machines many times over the years and have not had a problem re-using the license). I copied all my music onto the NAS and have since stopped using the old site. When I attempt to access the old site now, it doesn't work.

I gave the subsonic server a new name on my nas and I also tried using the original name. Neither one works. I have grown completely dependent on subsonic and am struggling to not have my music accessible to me from wherever I am.

Please bear with me - talk to me like I'm a total idiot because I really don't know what I'm doing; I'm just really good at following directions, which has gotten me this far!
