m4a files won't play in web app

Postby houdini2930 » Thu Feb 26, 2015 1:10 am

Transcoding with ffmpeg isn't showing any errors, but whenever I try to play an m4a song in the web app, nothing happens. The playhead doesn't advance and the song doesn't play. This is all subsonic.log shows:

Code: Select all
[2015-02-25 19:04:47,913] DEBUG TranscodeInputStream - Starting transcoder: [/usr/syno/synoman/webman/3rdparty/Subsonic/transcode/ffmpeg] [-i] [/volume1/audio/Music/Artist/Album/01 Song.m4a] [-map] [0:0] [-b:a] [320k] [-v] [0] [-f] [mp3] [-]
[2015-02-25 19:04:48,727] DEBUG AudioScrobblerService - Successfully registered now playing for song 'Song' for user houdini2930 at Last.fm: Wed Feb 25 19:04:47 GMT-06:00 2015
[2015-02-25 19:04:51,436] DEBUG AudioScrobblerService - Successfully registered submission for song 'Song' for user houdini2930 at Last.fm: Wed Feb 25 19:04:50 GMT-06:00 2015

When I run the ffmpeg directive on the command line, it seems to work fine. I get a stream of data when I use:

Code: Select all
$ /usr/syno/synoman/webman/3rdparty/Subsonic/transcode/ffmpeg -i "/volume1/audio/Music/Artist/Album/01 Song.m4a" -map 0:0 -b:a 320k -v 0 -f mp3 -

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it since it's not throwing an error. I have CHMOD'd ffmpeg to be 777 so I don't think it's a permissions issue.

I don't know what version of Subsonic you're using, but my solution to the same problem (which afaik has been fixed in the latest version) was to downgrade my ffmpeg.
