Transcoding issue: can't play WMA files on any devices

Postby chadalan » Mon Mar 02, 2015 12:20 am

Running latest 5.2 (build 4411) version of subsonic on fully-patched x64 windows 7 ultimate and latest Java 8 JRE.

Players/Clients I've tested are the integrated web player in a browser, as well as several android app players.

None of my players seem to be able to play WMA files. My "Transcoding" admin page settings for audio is as follows:

Name: | From: | To: | Step 1:
mp3 audio | ogg oga aac m4a flac wav wma aif aiff ape mpc shn | mp3 | ffmpeg -i %s -map 0:0 -b:a %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -

All my "Players" admin page settings for Active transcodings are all selected with checkboxes to be enabled.

My ffmpeg executable version is N-61599-gce9d3da and it is located in my C:\subsonic\transcode directory.

I'v tried deleting and reestablishing all Players, but, still no luck.

Interestingly enough, the subsonic server log actually thinks the WMA tracks are playing correctly...
[3/1/15 5:43:28 PM EST] INFO PlayQueueInputStream admin listening to "track1.wma"
...even though I hear no sound and the integrated jwplayer time bar never counts up the time. Andoid app clients either also get stuck on the track and won't play or they throw an error.
(For example, the official and ultrasonic apps say "Downloading 0 bytes" then sit there stuck on the wma track. The PaMusic app immediately throws the error: setDataSourceFD failed: status 0x80000000 (IO exception))

I've tested multiple WMA files and verified that all the files are valid and play properly in various external players (vlc, winamp, wmp, etc.)

Thanks again for a great product and for any help you can provide,
chad
