Settings pane not showing

When I log in as any user I am greeted with a blank panel (not the usual selection of album covers) and the now playing pane is empty, more problematic still is the settings pane which is also blank. All other panes (home, started, playlists, podcasts, more, about) show what they normally would. There is nothing in the log file to indicate an error and music queues and plays correctly. I am fairly sure it has worked since the last version upgrade to 5.2 a month ago or more.

I'm not sure what else I can provide in terms of details. I can't find any similar posts on the forum either.

I'm running 5.2.1 (but only upgraded because the problem existed on 5.2)
Ubuntu 14.04, all up to date.

EDIT: I discovered that Now Playing is also blank and have altered the above to reflect this.

Oh the gremlins.

I figured it out after trying access through localhost and realising that it didn't use https. The problem is Firefox suddenly blocking some insecure content on certain pages of subsonic which coincides perfectly with block the "now playing" list and all settings. If I "disable protection for now" everything works again. Perhaps there is a bug here, if it only affects certain pages?

I think Firefox used to warn rather than outright block and that was the difference.

Thanks for the input. I believe i may have a different issue. I have tried in chrome IE and firefox from bot local and remote host there is no place to access settings at all. I dont even see a link. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I cant add folders or users i cant update the database. I could really use some help on this. I use this with the android app to listen to music in the car.
