Trouble Getting external access to Subsonic - local fine

hi folks

I'm wondering can anybody help me with the problem detailed below...ive subsonic running on a raspberrypi on my local network just fine.
But i can't seem to get externam access to it. I have tried all the port forwarding tips i can find, and indeed am getting an "all ok" from Subsonic re port forwarding (see attached)

I wonder has anybody any ideas?

Java Memory Limit: Mac: can't find...
Problem Filename: n/a
Output from ffmpeg -i: Don't understand this

Check out the portforward.com site to manually port forward 4040 to your subsonic server. Make sure also that your subsonic server has a static IP address (or at least a reserved DHCP address).

Trouble is, I'm on Mac and the portforwarding.com .exe doesn't work on a Mac. I followed their manual tutorial for my router, but it doesn't hel...

portforwarding.com is a website. Go to the website and look up your router. It will explain in detail how to forward port 4040 (technically, it shows you how to forward ANY port, but you want 4040) to your Mac.

There's three steps: 1) Fixed IP on the server, 2) Open server firewall to 4040, 3) Open port 4040 on router, test with server running at canyouseeme.org for port 4040.

Ok, solved. Thanks for the help folks. It was the firewall on my raspi that was the issues. Even though it seemed none was installed by default, that didn't apparently mean the ports were open. So I needed to install a firewall in order to open 4040. Instructions here:

Think I have solve that....make sure is Setting/Network that you don't have Subsonic's port forwarding 'helper' turned on...

Also make sure your firewall doesn't have a "running" configuration, and a "permanent" configuration. If it does, make sure any changes you make to the "running" configuration are copied/saved to the "permanent" configuration before rebooting your firewall or restarting the service.

(By the way, is there a good thread about directory structure for my music collection to enhance subsonic experience? I've got:

<A-Z>/<artist>/artist - album - trackno - song

But that seems to get me very patchy coverage in subsonic...anyway, wrong place for that Q...

I've always done: /Music/Artist/Album/## Track Name.mp3 (where ## is the track number.)
