I am new to Subsonic, so I really don't know where to start to troubleshoot. But I don't think it is transcoding my media properly for playback. When I look at the log I see the error below:

I have installed Subsonic 5.2.1 on a Ubuntu 14.04 vm, with 2GB of ram. I had Plex installed on it previously and it worked. ( I removed Plex because it cost too much) I am mentioning that only to prove that the vm is capable.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to fix this?

more info on my setup

License Subsonic Premium (expires March 27, 2016)
Version 5.2.1 (build 4428) – March 4, 2015
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_75, Linux (84.6 MB / 141.1 MB)

Thanks!

Yep. Definately, not transcoding.

I did some more googling today and found SourceForge post with the same error messages I was getting. They "fixed"' it by downgrading to last version that worked for them ver 4.9. And it worked for me too.
