Moving Music Files to new Hard Drive

My music collection has outgrown my hard drive, so I need to buy a new larger drive. If install a new drive and move my entire music folder over to it, will I lose my existing library database? In other words will every album show up as being newly added, and will all my playlists break because the file path will be different?

Current configuration (running Windows 7):
Subsonic installed at C:\Subsonic\
Music folder is C:\Music\

Planned new configuration
Subsonic installation unchanged at C:\Subsonic
Music Folder moved to D:\Music

Is there a config file I need to change in order to update path to the music folder, or something like that? I've searched the forum and can't find anything, but this must be something that other users have encountered. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Just add your new location as a new media folder, then rescan your database. You will lose your playlists (or rather the songs in the playlists, however if you export them first to *.m8p3 files (can't recall the exact extension!), you can open each of these files with Notepad and manually find/replace "C:\Music" with "D:\Music" or whatever the new path is. Then delete the old playlists and re-import the new ones.

Thanks @gurutech. Your suggestion for playlist sounds good.
Sorry if I'm being dense, but just to clarify - If I delete all my music from the old drive and move it over to the new drive, won't Subsonic treat all those albums as being newly added, and lose all the data about number of times they've been played? In other words, wouldn't I be essentailly creating a brand new library? Or is Subsonic somehow able to "know" theat they are the same albums that were already in the library?

Correct, you lose all current information about the albums due to them being treated as new ones.
