Mac Setup Help

I am a total Newb who knows nothing about Unix/Terminal/etc. My music is stored on a 4TB external HD connected to a Mac Mini. All files are Apple Lossless. For years, I've been using an incredible app called Audiotap to stream music from my Mac Mini at home to my iPhone or iPad, which, if on WiFi, streams at full quality up to 24/48. As of the new iTunes 12/2, Audiotap no longer functions (and has been abandoned by the developers), so I am forced to look elsewhere, which brings me here.

I installed Subsonic, but I cannot get it to find my music folder on my external HD. I entered the path Music Library HD/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music, but it just says "Folder Not Found".

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.

I am also a happy user of AudioTap and am sorry to hear it has been abandoned. I am experimenting with Subsonic to see if it can fill the gap. The primary problem I am having is how to transfer playlists from iTunes to Subsonic.

As for your problem of not seeing your music I may have a suggestion. When I initially installed Subsonic and logged in as the admin I could not see my music. After reading the forum I created a second user id and logged in. Voila everything is available. I can't explain it but it worked for me.

I figured it out. The path has to begin with /Volumes. It's scanning now.

Just downloaded iSub. I'm sure I'll have more problems, so stay tuned!
