Import old Podcasts?

I have recently removed my entire Subsonic configuration to start from scratch, and I'm trying to see how I can "import" all the Podcast details that I had in my previous Subsonic instance.

I'm not talking about the content itself - I have all the files - it's the configuration that Subsonic has, knowing which podcasts I have subscribed to, and the metadata that it had indexed of all existing podcast entries.

I'd rather not have to re-subscribe and then re-download everything because not all my entries are available any longer from the podcast source.

My overall Subsonic content is relatively dynamic (some stuff added, some stuff deleted, some stuff changed), and my configuration relatively simple. If I have some way of getting my Podcast configuration "back" after a fresh instance of Subsonic is started, Subsonic builds everything else that I care about on its own. I'm not bothered about the information it keeps on who played what, when and how many times.

Thanks!

EDIT

I suspect the subsonic.script file contains much of what I'm looking for, but is my process as simple as populating the PODCAST_CHANNEL and PODCAST_EPISODE tables from my last Subsonic instance?

Sorted

I can answer my own question. I simply trimmed the appropriate information out of the subsonic.script, adjusted the content as I wanted (I chose to re-order the way the Podcasts are listed in the Subsonic interface), and ran the SQL statement in the db.view. Tada.

I want to do exactly the same - can you give a little more detail about how you did it?

Import Podcast Metadata

It's a while ago now, but as I mentioned, the subsconic.script file is a complete sql script with all the data in it for Subsonic's db.

I just loaded that file into an editor, culled what data I *didn't* want to re-upload, and then from:

http://your-subsonic-url/db.view

I pasted the sql code itself. The interface will give you the results.

As I highlight, just look through the subsonic.script file itself to get familiar with the db schema, and you can add/remove/change the content with whatever you like.

Just look for all the PODCAST references, and you'll sort out where you're at. I adjusted the PODCAST_CHANNEL table's "ID" field in each record to sort how the podcasts showed up in the interface.

Good luck!
