Media folder restriction in DLNA/UPnP mode

Hi,
I have added different media folders and some users. Not all of them should have access to all folders, so I configured it in subsonic.
Opening some iOS DLNA Apps, I was never prompted for a password and do always have access to ALL folders, even when I should not.

So, how does this feature: "Restricted user access to media content" work in DLNA/UPnP mode with subsonic?

Thanks

Hi,

As far as I know, the DLNA/UPnP standards has no way for access control / parental controls to be implemented.
Some DLNA servers (ex: Servioo) restrict what is offered to the client on a per-clientdevice basis (meaning manual configuration for each client device).

As for Subsonic, I believe that the folder-based restrictions is not in place for DLNA/UPnP.
It could be a feature request for Sindre, to make some sort of configuration for which Subsonic-folders are offered up as content on the DLNA-server interface or device-list filtering like Servo does.
