Streaming from NAS

Hello,

I have my music stored on a NAS (Synology MyCloud) and setup Subsonic to pull music from the NAS (via Macbook). When I'm on the network at home this works fine, music streams normally. However when I'm remote music will not play. I can download tracks, but they will not play.. this tells me I have the connections but perhaps I'm missing a setting either in Subsonic or the NAS that will allow for streaming? I'm stuck on where to look.

if you mean that the subsonic server run on your mac and files on your nas is normal that when your out of the lan you can't access the music on your nas!

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me. I have Subsonic Server running on my PC, Music folder is on my NAS and I'm trying to play music from my laptop (Macbook) when I'm away from my LAN. Still havent figured out why I can download but not stream.

I assume that if you can download the tracks when you are away from your LAN, you have the server address DDNS setup correctly.
What type of file are trying to play? MP3 or FLAC?

I tried an mp3, wav and flac. I thought it might be a transcoding issue but none of them work...

But how you access nas files from the wan (internet)?

Thats exactly my question! WHy am I able to download but not stream from WAN.

when you are on the lan how you mount the remote nas folder?
sambas, afp, webdav?

send a screenshot of your shared folder in the subsonic control panel please,
I would to see the folder path in the settings
