It seems I accidently put the Anthrax album "State Of Euphoria" in the root folder of my library rather than in the Anthrax folder which seemed to make it end up as an artist rather than an album. I've now moved it to the correct place and rescanned the library and also pressed the "clean-up database" link in the settings. The album now correctly shows up under Anthrax, but the "band" State Of Euphoria is still there in the left side menu with an album cover, but no songs. Any ideas what I should do to remove it?

Even though I moved away the album all together from the subsonic folder and rescanned/cleaned up it only disappeared from Anthrax but is still there in the left hand menu.

The easiest way I've found to fix this is to do following:
- log onto subsonic as your admin user
- rename the music folder to something non-existing (e.g. /home/subsonic/music to /home/subsonic/foo) and save this setting
- do a cleanup and rescan the entire library, which will purge the entire library
- point your music library back to the original folder, hit save and do another rescan of your library

But before you do this: make sure to export your playlists, because this procedure will break them!
Afterwards you just need to re-import all of your playlists and you should be fine.

Thanks, that did it. Took a while to rescan 41k+ songs, but that did it. Seems the number of songs decreased by a couple of hundred or so, but maybe those where previously moved or renamed songs, so it probably didn't hurt to do it anyway.
