Is subsonic down?

Postby sviatapolk » Wed Sep 16, 2015 6:17 pm

I can't access my subsonic server remotely using xxxx.subsonic.org but it works if I use my IP address.

Is the domain down? www.subsonic.org doesn't work either.

Yep, confirmed having the same issue here - in Settings>Network it tells me "Status: Failed to test web address. Connect to subsonic.org:80 timed out (ConnectTimeoutException)".

Glad it isn't just me! :)

I don't rely on the Subsonic name server anymore.

I spend a few bucks a year and use Dyndns.
Works with web, apps and Sonos.

No more issues and my users and up and running.

If this last another day I might have to look into getting a Dyndns account.

In the 4 years I've used subsonic this is only the second time I can remember it happening.

All day I've been blaming my PC for my Subsonic server being down. I figured it must have rebooted after installing Windows updates, or something like that. Turns out my poor computer was innocent.

Rotten timing, since I had a lighter day at work and plenty of time to stream music via Subsonic. I've been streaming FLAC files to my iPhone and playing them with iSub. Today I had to go back to Spotify, and the lower fidelity audio was not very satisfying.

Never thought to try hitting the server via the IP address. I have a dynamic IP but it doesn't change often, so at least I should be able to listen to music at work tomorrow even if the subsonic.org issues aren't resolved yet.

I use DuckDNS which is a free alternative to Dyndns. Works well :)

Since the website is down, is there any way of figuring out what's going on?

I JUST got the premium service, and this really put a damper on my excitement.
