How to use a Chromecast audio from subsonic

I just started using subsonic, moving over from the google play/music monkey/logitech media server and am finding it a huge improvement over all of them.
I also just got a chromecast audio (showed up last night).
So, on windows 7, can I stream directly from the server to the chromecast audio?
My impression is that it *should* be supported by the subsonic server natively, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.
Any and all help deeply appreciated.
Just to be clear - How do you cast audio (not video) from the box running subsonic (on windows 7) ?
Thank you,
-Clark.

DSub also isn't working now with Audio even though there should be no difference. Has anyone bought the new Chromecast 2 and seen if that has similar issues as well?

Clark- It *should* be like the older CC...I use Chrome Browser with CC extension, verify that CC is on the network, and when I use the web player in Chrome, the CC symbol pops up in the player. On my Nexus 6, I use DSub, which has the CC symbol to select/send.
Scott- When I searched the new CC app for music app for 'Google Cast', DSub indeed shows up..and still works with my old CC...my new CC Audio arrives tomorrow..anything you want me to test? Cheers!

I have successfully cast to my new Chromecast Audio via a Chrome window in Windows 10. Just open the subsonic web access via right clicking the subsonic icon in the Windows notifications area, then click casting icon on the top right of your chrome window. I've also been able to succesfully cast SiriusXM and Spotify through Chrome (although the regular Spotify program for Windows can't cast). Oh, and Plex for iOS casts wonderfully to the Chromecast.
Looking for any info on an app that can cast through mobile phones. Currently, iSub on iOS doesn't cast, which sucks, because I can cast to AirPlay devices using it. I would like to grab multiple Chromecasts so I can do whole house audio from my phone. As it is now, I'd just have to walk over to my computer to accomplish this.
Chromecasts can support 24bit/96KHz, so do we know if Subsonic transcodes down to mp3 for hi-fidelity Lossless FLAC?

Unless I'm mistaken Subsonic does indeed transcode FLAC to MP3 by default. I've been experimenting with settings and having FLAC either sent directly or decoded to PCM/WAV and then sent, but so far this has lead to issues such as not playing full tracks, skipping tracks in a playlist, or, at best, gaps of ~1 second between tracks.
Hopefully once more people get these lovely little devices the bugs in their use get squashed.
