When my phone is connected to my home wifi, I cannot connect to the server thru the android app; as soon as I connect to mobile, or to a different wifi network, I can see my home server and connect to and play songs, movies, etc ... but if I reconnect to the home network, it cannot contact the server again ... Help?! I am on server version 5.2.1.

need more info. What type mobile are you using? Apple (IOS) or android? What client app are you using? Did you specify a port for your subsonic server and allow your home server firewall to be opened for that port? this sounds to me you have a network issue. Open the browser in your mobile and see if you can get to the subsonic server. If you are inside of your network, you can type the name of your server or private IP. Example: If you name your home server as shadrocksubonic and your private IP for the server is 192.168.0.5. You should be able to browse http://shadrocksubonic or http://192.168.0.5. If you specify a port on your subsonic, for example 4040, then you should browse as http://shadrocksubonic:4040 or http://192.168.0.5:4040.

You can also try the public IP address/port instead of 'easy to remember' name...some routers don't do 'loopback' as expected, primarily as a supposed security feature:
