Subsonic Forum

Problem Description: My media server has always run Subsonic, but recently I began accessing the server from an HP Thin Client. I soon discovered that I could no longer access Subsonic via the app on my Android phone or my tablet.

Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Stopped and restarted the Subsonic process on my Ubuntu 14.04 server.
2. Rebooted the server.
3. Rebooted the router.
4. Checked the SETTINGS menu of Subsonic -

Automatically configure router is checked but the following error appears below it.

Code: Select all

"Status: No router found."

And below my easy to remember address it says

Code: Select all

"Status: Could not connect to innerspaceboy.subsonic.org. (ConnectTimeoutException)"

5. Checked the .log:

6. Logged into my router and checked Firewall Settings:

Code: Select all

MEDIUM
Inbound Policy: Reject.
Remote Administration settings will override the security inbound policy.
Outbound Policy: Accept.

7. Checked and updated forwarding of port 4040 to match my server's address.

Code: Select all

TCP 4040 -> 4040   All Broadband Devices   Active

8. Verified that Canyouseeme cannot on 4040.

Java Memory Limit: Not sure, sorry (no taskbar agent)

Output from ffmpeg -i: (If you open a command prompt and type 'ffmpeg -i <filename>' what is the output?

Checking in a week later but no responses. Is there any further info I can provide which would more quickly lead to a resolution?

Canyouseeme.org needs to 'pass' your opened port test, or the router is simply NOT forwarding it properly. Reboot router after opening port 4040 on the STATIC IP of your server.
