Sonos -> "Unable to browse music"

Hi all,
I installed Subsonic on my iMac (10.10.5) and scanned my music folder. The albums appear in the web interface and can be browsed/played from there. I added Subsonic as a music source in the Sonos controller app on my Mac. The credentials are accepted. However, when I try to enter the service, I get a spinning wheel and after a short while, the "Unable to browse music" error message. Here's the relevant excerpt from the log file:
Same thing happens on the iOS controllers.
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? Clearly I didn't set up something properly but I just can't wrap my head around this. I so want this to work, given that I need to work around that 65K limitation in Sonos...
