Hey folks. So, this is a relatively new issue that I've been stumped on lately. For whatever reason, my shared content in subsonic no longer works. I'm running Win 10, ports 4040 and 8443 w/ https. I can access my server from the public internet w/ no issues (wezman2k.subsonic.org or https://win2k.noip.me:8443). When logged in, I can play all content w/ no problem.

The issue is that as soon as I try to share something and access that link (for example: https://win2k.noip.me:8443/share/GdxMv) you'll see that the content is not available. I have no idea why... the permissions on the directories are set properly (to my knowledge) and I have definitely been able to share files in the past. Does anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot something like this? It occurs regardless of whether or not the content is audio or video.

I am having the same problem. This used to work on earlier versions, but since 5.3 I get the "Sorry, the content is not available" message.

Version 5.3 (build 4569) – October 25, 2015

Troubleshooting Steps: rebooted computer, confirmed port 4040 (UDP and TCP cuz I never remember which is correct) are open on the router

I am having the same problem. I posted a while back, but saw no response to my post. It would be nice to get this working again.

Bump to this post. I can't seem to share old shares, or new ones.

This still doesnt work for me. I really hope someone fixes this soon. I am still on v5.3.

Same issue here.

when logged into any of my users :admin, guest, etc. the shared media link works. When I sign out, it still works (I'm assuming a cookie is saved.) When I reload the page or send the link to someone who has not signed in, they get "content not available."

Help is appreciated from those smarter than me.

Just installed 6.0.beta2 (build ef60a8) and still not working, can anyone confirm that their shared media is working in 5.3 or 6.0 Betas?

I have no problem in shared media with 6.0 beta2 in Firefox or Chrome. Safari will give me the file not found error.

I also tested this on the Subsonic 6.0 release. It still seems to be broken...

So, this doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Here is some more research. I upgraded to latest Subsonic v6.0. Deleted all shares. Created one new one "pZvqr".

Pasted link into new In-Cognito-Chrome-Window, and still got the "no media available" error message. There was nothing in the /var/subsonic/subsonic.log either.

I did see that in the log, Subsonic had created Player 18, but when I was logged in as myself, there was no Player 18 down there. Perhaps that had something to do with it?


I modified the URL above from "pZvqr" to "nard" which is a share that really doesn't exist, and got the same ambiguous error message.

Yeah, this sucks. For me, the whole appeal of an HTML5 player was that sharing might actually work for people on mobile devices, but sharing functionality is still broken since v5.3 as described above. Really looking forward to a fix on this...

*edit: Rolled back to 5.2.1 just like I did after I saw 5.3 broke it. Seemed to roll back OK other than some "WARN UserDao Unknown role: '12'" messages in the logs.
