I've been using Subsonic 5.1 for a long time with no issues. Suddenly today, the Google image search for album covers doesn't work. It always says "No images found". Nothing in the log file about this. I can paste a URL to an image, and it downloads that successfully. Why would the search stop working?

I just updated to version 5.3 and have the same problem.

I installed the Chrome extension, "Ghostery".
It took me a while to figure it out- but that was the culprit.
I removed it and image search worked again.
Check that or other ad-blocker type extensions: could be the problem.

EDIT: Odd, it is again not working for me even with Ghostery white listed or paused.
No idea what is happening now.

Ah, interesting. I did update my laptop from Mavericks to Yosemite around the same time I updated Subsonic server. But I tested from MobileSafari on iPhone 5, and it doesn't work there either.

same here - image search not working. and it's also not picking up on the images from the mp3-tag or the JPG file which is stored in the album folder (all of which it usually did)

Not working the image serach for me too. I play subsonic on Chrome in an Ubuntu 14.04 PC

I have exactly the same issue, just started yesterday. Without making any changes on my system it just stopped working. See my original post viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16188
At least now I know its not just me having this issue.

For everyone having the issue, was it caused by the 5.3 update?

i'm not sure if it can be linked to that, as i personally updated to 5.3 a couple of weeks ago and until a few days ago i didn't have any issues whatsoever. all my covers displayed absolutely fine last week, so i only noticed it this morning when i added a bunch of new albums where the cover artwork was blank (that is also when i noticed that the image search stopped working)

I used it fine on 5.3 as well. I imagine it is a problem with the Google Images API

this is how it looks on my web interface:



as you can see, all the albums i added last week have their respective covers displayed, but everything i added this week comes up as blank. and absolutely nothing has changed on my end in regards to how i organise/add the metadata. i always make sure a JPG of the cover is in the album folder and i also add the cover artwork and all other album information to the actual mp3-ID3 tag using 'Mp3tag' (freeware). this has always worked in the past, but something seems to have changed

any ideas?

I'm also having this problem.

Might it be related to recent java updates?

I updated all of this on my server a couple of days ago and since then the image search doesn't work:

I am getting the same - but i didn't update anything - just stopped working one day.

I'ma not really sure if subsonic uses this service. But as i saw in a script, subonic is loading this site "<script type="text/javascript" src="https://www.google.com/jsapi"></script>"

It looks like this service has stopped working
