FIXED: Flac files not showing up in clients

I've been running my subsonic server for about 5 years now, and once upon a time I configured it to hide flac files from clients (anything I have in flac I also have in mp3 in a separate directory).

I would like to expose the flac files once again to my clients (android for chromecasting, etc.), but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get them to show again.

I feel like I configured in the GUI settings a long time ago to hide files with a .flac extension, but I don't see any settings like that now. Grep'ing for flac in my /var/subsonic and db directories isn't turning up anything particularly interesting either.

I have removed flac from the mp3 transcoding settings, but that hasn't changed anything (e.g. ogg oga aac m4a wav wma aif aiff ape mpc shn).

I can actually see the flac directories in my clients, but navigating to them shows an empty directory.

Any tips on how to get my flac's to show again? Wish I could remember what the heck I did long ago to hide them in the first place :)

I'm running: 5.3 (build 4568)

Settings-General-Music Files
Does flac exist in this list?

Yup, one of the first things I tried:
mp3 ogg oga aac m4a wav wma aif aiff ape mpc shn flac

The library has been rescanned since then, still not showing up.

Try making some change within the folder (delete, add files/folders)..sometimes media scanner needs a jumpstart. Also I wonder if transferring files from Android might have included a .nomedia file, unsure how this could affect SS media scanner.

You mean writing a quick script to go through my music directories and, say, touching all the .flac files (which would change their last modified time)? Would that be enough you think to kick it off on the next scan?

So I "touched" some flac files last night so that they had a an updated "last modified" date/time on the files, and after the scan ran last night the flac files still aren't showing up in android clients or the web based client.

Any other ideas on why flac files woudn't be showing in my subsonic clients?

Interesting update.

I bought some new CD's, ripped them to Flac, and mp3 (dual directories under the artist, I prefer not to have to transcode on the fly with my slow computer).

The new flacs are showign up and working fine, even after the nightly scheduled media scan.

So what do I need to do to my existing flac directories/files in order to have them show up in my clients? Should I rename all the flac file directories?

As a quick follow-up, I tried "Clean-up database" and a media rescan, that didn't do it either.

Any tips on how to force subsonic to add in the flac files?

Removing the folder with all my music, rescanning, then adding it back seems to have fixed this. All my flac's show up now.
