Unable to access outside of home network

Postby u138915 » Mon Jan 25, 2016 12:25 am

Apologies if this is already an existing subject but I couldn't see it listed.

I have successfully set up subsonic via a raspberry pi and can play my media on my home network but am unable to play anywhere else.

I believe the problem stems from this error message in the network settings of subsonic... Status: Could not connect to xxxxxx.subsonic.org. (ConnectTimeoutException)
I'm assuming this is down to my port forwarding settings but am unable to find any help online of how to rectify this on a sky router.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated as I would love to get this working and sign up to the premium service.

Thank you.

Test at canyouseeme.org for your chosen port number (eg.4040). Cheers!

I don't have that particular router but I just Googled "sky router port forwarding" and got step by step instructions and also a YouTube video. Just forward to port 4040 and you should be good to go.

I'm having a similar issue. Unable to see port 4040 from outside my firewall. I Have a Belkin router, with port forwarding and port mapping set to 4040 for my internal IP address. Also have an xFinity modem with the firewall settings all turned off. Same goes for my local windows machine: Firewall is disabled. So even tho the firewall settings are turned off I'm thinking things are not quite configured properly as canyouseeme.org fails too for port 4040. But I can't figure out which piece of a firewall is still active. Anyone have an xfinity issue? Or a Belkin issue not playing well?
