Random Search Function returns nothing: Java Error?

Been using Subsonic successfully for years. A couple weeks back the random search function stopped working. It would typically only list Albums from the first folder in the tree (Africa/East Africa/Ethipoia - yes I sort my music geographically), rather than all the files in the drive. Occasionally I would get an error message. Other search functions, (recent, decade, etc.), work normally. Because the error message referenced Java, I updated Java. The problem persists. I also hadn't updated Subsonic since 4.9- using the standard that if it ain't broke why fix it? I thought perhaps that might be the problem so I updated to 5.3. The problem persists. I also get an error message (the one below) when I attempt to "refresh" my folders in the side bar on the home screen. The PC it resides on is ancient and running Windows 7 and is really only used for running subsonic. The files live in a large attached hard drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
