That's generally caused by having your setup pointing to an "external player".
Resolve it by going to Settings, then Player.
Hover over the player at the bottom so that its own value comes up (in my case, it says "Player 12").
In the settings, select what the player is (I think the value you see is the default, but i'm not sure), and if it is "external" (either with or without playlist), just click to delete it or change it to "Web Player" and save.
Then try to play something.
I hope that works. Haven't needed to do that in a while.
