admin password in subsconic.script doesn't work

Hi all

As per the sticky, I've been trying to log in via the admin password stored in /var/subsonic/subsonic.script. I've run it through a hex converter and it's a password I remember configuring.

When I enter this ASCII string into the login page using the 'admin' user, it simply says the username/password combo is incorrect.

For the two user accounts I have configured, I can log in fine (by following the same steps; running their hex password through a converter and logging in).

For what it's worth, I've tried inserting a new 'password' hex value into the credentials string for the admin user and restarting the Subsonic server, but it resets to its old value (I suspect that's normal behavior). I also tried replacing the 'NULL' field with an e-mail address to reset the password, but that didn't stick either.

This is on 6.0.beta2 (build d85b52) – March 23, 2016

Thanks

Here's the server version:
jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_95, Linux (54.4 MB / 92.0 MB)

And my OS is Debian (Stable).

The last few lines of the subsonic.log are:

tail -fn 10 subsonic.log

I've been looking into this issue, and I can't for the life of me work it out. The subsonic.script file appears to be re-written each time
Code: Select all
service subsonic restart
is invoked.

Either way, I uninstalled subsonic, deleted the /var/subsonic directory and just re-installed Subsonic and now I can log is as Admin again. I've had a go at re-creating the issue to help with a bug report, but I've not encountered this issue again. At first I thought it might be something to do with what user subsonic runs as and the ownership permission of the various config files, but I've been able to return my config back to the original fault conditions and the issue hasn't come back. The only other thing I can think of that might be worth investigating if you encounter this problem is to check your system clock. I happened to notice that my NTP wasn't configured when debugging this, so that might be worth a punt.
