Playlist Now Empty

Hello, I'm trying to track down an issue with playlists. Looking at the playlists in the side bar, they look to be fine with the number of songs in parenthesis. But when you actually click on the playlists, there are no songs in them. Has anyone seen this and/or does anyone know where the playlists actually live? I am needing to search and see if there is a backup of this file in order to hopefully restore all of them. This is on a system with multiple users connecting to the same server.

From my Googling, it looks like the playlists are located in the database file on the server and can be extracted. If anyone can confirm or deny this, or has guidance on restoring, please let me know. Thanks for any help!

Are you using the account that created the playlists? A 'bug' I once saw in the 5.x set is that you can see the playlist and see the 'count' if the playlist is shared public. However, you as a user looking at that playlist can only see the files you're allowed to see. If the admin user has excluded your user from those Music Folders, then their contents are blocked from you even though you can see playlists that reference them.

In fact, I can replicate that now on SubFire. I have an account that can only see the 'jazz' folder, but it still sees all the playlists (because they're public) and in doing, it can see the count of the number of files. Click on it and I get 'empty playlist'.

So yeah, that's most likely it: the # of files it shows does not incorporate what files you may not be allowed to see.

If it is a matter of missing files, the 6.0 beta versions will now show you if a file in a playlist is missing.
