Remote access issue

Postby grazza » Mon May 02, 2016 6:50 pm

Subsonic v6 running on Raspberry Pi all up to date and has been good for several years, but now a problem started recently where I cannot access my server remotely which I normally do at work on PC browser or driving using Android app. Router hasn't changed (port forward rules havent changed).
The network settings page has the best clue as to what is going wrong as per below;
The 'Access your server over the internet uding an easy-to-remember address.' is set correctly as it always has been i.e. http://xxxxxx.subsonic.org but the status message below it now reads; 'Could not connect to xxxxxx.subsonic.org. (ConnectionTimeoutException)

Local host access is still good. Any ideas on what is wrong here?

Thanks
Graham

Try navigating directly to the server with the IP. Sometimes the easy-to-remember address doesn't work.

Also try accessing the server from an external network. Like a mobile network, or a hotspot.
- If you don't know your web-facing IP go to a site like ipchicken.com or whatismyip.com
- Disconnect the Android device from the local network
- Try navigating to the server using your public IP http://###.##.##.###:4040

Make sure the Raspberry Pi's IP hadn't changed.
Sometimes another device will steal an IP forcing your port forwarding setup to be incorrect.
From my understanding connecting to http://localhost:4040/ should not be affected by port forwarding settings.
