Subsonic Forum

I have done some reading through the forums so I think I have checked all the basics.

- I am running Subsonic 3.6 build 806 on WHS Service Pack 2.
- I can access the web client through http://localhost:port/ on the server and on a desktop connected to my LAN
- I have the port forwarded on my router to my server address
- I have made an exception for that port in Windows Firewall.
- I am able to connect remotely to the default WHS website when using the WAN IP address (http://host).

No matter what I do though I just can't seem to connect to Subsonic over the WAN IP (http://host:port) I would be greatful for guidance, I figure it's something I have overlooked but I'm not seeing it. Thanks!

Which port are you using? I know a lot of people have issues when using port 8080 as that port is already used by the routers web interface. You might want to try changing to a different port.

Hi Jonathan, I thought that might be the case too. I tried both 8080, 9000, 9999, and 81 and I still have the same issue.

I dont know what firmware you are using on your router but I have had problems in the past when using DDWRT that when I setup port forwarding I saved the changes but nothing was working. I then remembered I have to actually apply the changes to get them to work. After hitting apply changes everything was up and running.

Since it is working on your LAN it has to be something on your router.

VERY familiar with that thread lol. I agree that it is definitely a router setting. Something you said makes me think that I'm not "applying" the changes. I have saved but I don't see an apply function (I'm also using ddwrt).

I've never had the issue before since I have to port forward for Blizzard and Ventrilo and they seem to work okay. I just started using WHS and part of the config wants the router to enable UPnP and I thought perhaps that might be part of the issue. Any other thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

On my version of DD-WRT on the port forward tab I have a Apply Changes button right next to the Save button.

okay so I got a buddy on the horn to try it with me. HE can see the subsonic screen... soooooooo I'm pretty sure it's my office network.
