HTTP ERROR 503

Postby cortellequeso » Fri May 20, 2016 5:00 pm

Not seeing any consistent remedy to this error after searching the forum and reading all the posts.

I got hit after upgrading to 6.0, and have yet to recover. Even to a brand new install.

I've tried:

-rolling back to 5.3
-delete/rename subsonic directory
-uninstall/reinstall subsonic
-removed everything subsonic related, ran CCleaner, etc.
-restarted numerous times, from Subsonic server service to full PC reboots.
-rolled back Windows updates to before I upgraded Subsonic.

The service is running in the system tray, the icon is green, and the control panels shows Subsonic up and running.

Not sure what to even try at this point just to get up and running again. I don't care about having to setup media folders and users again.

Thanks!

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Port 4042 is open per search.

My computer is a client in a server environment and problems seem to have occurred since the server was restarted (or this could be coincidence). All other networked software, internet connection on this client computer is operating as normal.

If anyone has any ideas on a fix, please let me know.

Thank you in advance.

I am running 64bit Win7 as well.

Things were working great until I upgraded to Subsonic 6.0, which was also around the time MS rolled out a NET Framework update....not sure if there is any correlation there or not, but I saw someone mention it in a thread about trouble shooting 503 errors.

Possible you might have DB corruption or some access issues to the DB.
Keep in mind many are having issue upgrading to the full version of 6.0 (me included).
I am still running the beta 2 waiting on updates to the installer.
Look at your subsonic log for clues but very possible the db is missing or corrupt in some way.

I had to restore from a backup to fix my setup.

Cortellequeso already rolled back to an earlier version. I'll try this later.

Regarding DB corruption? Please advise on easiest fix? I'll probably try this first.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you. Attempted to clean database as described. Still receiving the following error when attempting to open Subsonic in browser: HTTP Error: 503, SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE

If anyone has other options to try please input.

Nothing working here.

Latest efforts this evening:

Uninstalled Subsonic

Booted into Ubuntu:
Deleted C:\Subsonic folders, plus 2 previously renamed Subsonic Directories

Booted back into Windows:
Ran CCleaner to clear temp files, Browser cookies and cache, etc.
Scanned and fixed Registry.
Ran regedit and deleted Subsonic Keys
Deleted Start menu instances, removed Subsonic from start menu

Rebooted into Windows

Downloaded and installed Subsonic 5.3

Service Starts, control panel shows it up and running and I click on localhost:4040 and get the HTTP ERROR 503.

This is beyond frustrating.

Oh no, this is so frustrating!

Upgraded to 6.0 with no problems (except compatibility with older browsers, so switched to Chrome.) Was starting to get used to the new layout when suddenly this week, HTTP 503 error for no apparent reason. Restart, re-install, both failed to cure it. Given other peoples experiences I haven't tried anything more drastic yet.

Now I can't access Subsonic on any device and have no idea what's happened. Will be watching this thread avidly hoping someone figures it out... gutted.

Okay, so I took the plunge and went to c:/subsonic (server running on Windoze 7 64bit) and deleted all files in db and db backup folders (except the .script file, containing settings) and the Subsonic web interface is back ... will see how long it lasts.

Glad that worked for you, RhythmBox!

My PC is dualboot, so I am up and running again in Linux...I gave up for now trying to get the Windows version to work...

Same problem here, also running Win 7 64. I tried deleting everything (except script file) and still no luck. Can anyone offer a solution?

Thanks.
