Missing/losing music

Postby DGMayor » Thu May 26, 2016 3:08 am

I've noticed recently that my Subsonic server is losing music. I've checked the folders, and it's all there, but they are no longer showing up in Subsonic. For example, I'll have an artist with 10 albums, but only 3 show up no matter how many times I do a scan.

When 6.0 final came out, the upgrade nuked my database/settings and I set everything up from scratch again. At that time, it found everything, but now it's losing things..

Anyone have any ideas as to how to get it to see the missing albums/songs?

I'm having a similar issue.
Ever since I updated our library to version 6.0 from the beta version, I am unable to see and play most (but not all) of my sound files.
My server runs on OSX 10.11.5
I use a network shared drive
Most files are ripped from CD using iTunes, Ripserver or DBpoweramp

For the CD ripped files, all of the top level (Artist) folders are displayed. What's missing for most (but not all CD rips) is the album name and track.

One group of files that ALWAYS show up in the library right now are not ripped from a CD. They are automated recordings of over-the-air FM radio in MP3. The folder structure on these files is different from CD rips - the FM recordings are organized by Date/Track.

The only thing I regularly change when I upgrade to a different server version is the Java memory limit - it is now set at 450m.

Not sure what to do. Can someone help?

I ended up blowing the database file and letting it rebuild. So far so good.

I'm having a similar issue under 6.0. Search isn't working, the Subsonic info lists 0 artists/songs, and the random albums feature only lists a few albums from my collection. However, the artist lists has all my artists, and I can play everything listed there.

I'll nuke the DB and see if that works, but the issue's really messing up how I use Subsonic.

I read somewhere but has to do with folder modified date vs track modified date. I had this problem where 1/2 of the music on my NAS wasn't getting in on scan. I downloaded an attribute editor that allowed me to select the folders who's modified date was older than the root music folder date and change the date to current day. I rescanned and it picked up most of them. Some are still missing and I have to look into that...not sure if it's the same problem.
