Can not play remotely with voicemeter

Hey I recently moved and now have a media PC set up in the lounge with Subsonic installed for ease of access when entertaining. However mostly I use my PC, rather than installing another copy I figured I would just push the audio from the server to my PC using voicemeter and VBAN over the network, however when I run the voicemeter program subsonic can no longer play remotely instead on the phone app the progress bar goes to around 4 seconds and resets. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and knows a solution so I can get it working again?
