Auto or Bulk Playlist Import

Does anyone know of a way to setup a task/script to auto import playlists in a folder or a way to do a bulk import of them manually? Doing them one at a time thru the GUI is a bit cumbersome. I have a script running daily exporting them from iTunes to a folder. Would like to make them available in an automated or easier way in SubSonic also. Appreciate any suggestion and apologize if this has been answered already,

What's wrong with the "Import Playlists from" in Settings|Genereal, which is scanned each night and anything in there is imported ?

Is there a way to trigger this manually? I was having problems with playback, so I completely reinstalled it and want to import the playlists en masse right away, rather than waiting for Subsonic to do it in the morning.

The only way to trigger playlist import is to start a folder scan.
