Router issue -- Local vs Remote download speeds

Hey now,

I've recently changed ISP's, and with that I also changed routers. Went from an AT&T Uverse NVG599 Gateway to a Netgear 6400 behind a Comcast modem.

I've set up Subsonic again with the 4040 port correctly and everything works.

The problem is, when I'm at home on my LAN the new router is clearly trying to upload songs up and out to the internet at slow speeds. There's no recognition that my client is local to the host. Before, I would be able to download a regular 5MB song in 2 seconds. Now it's the same speed at home or out of the network.

Clearly this is some setting that I'm missing on my router and not a problem with Subsonic itself. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful.

Nevermind. I think I fixed it. Went back and added port 80 in addition to 4040 and now I seem to be cruising at full speed again.
