[Raspian] Restart problems on Raspberry Pi

Hi all,

I'm just checking out Subsonic for the first time and installed it on a Raspberry Pi with Raspian as OS. I have access to this Pi from outside over port 80 (for web usage) and I also opened port 4040 to access Subsonic. I could start Subsonic and it worked for a while. Then something went wrong with my Pi and I had to restart it. When I check the services I see that the Subsonic service has restarted, too.

● subsonic.service - LSB: Subsonic daemon
Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/subsonic)
Active: active (running) since Do 2016-12-22 17:05:25 CET; 1min 51s ago
Process: 913 ExecStop=/etc/init.d/subsonic stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
Process: 970 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/subsonic start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
CGroup: /system.slice/subsonic.service
└─984 java -Xmx150m -Dsubsonic.home=/var/subsonic -Dsubsonic.host=...

Dez 22 17:05:25 mypiserver subsonic[970]: Started Subsonic [PID 984, /var/su...]
Dez 22 17:05:25 mypiserver systemd[1]: Started LSB: Subsonic daemon.
Hint: Some lines were ellipsized, use -l to show in full.

But I can't connect to the service. I get "Page not found" on my Firefox Browser (the other web sides on my PI are still working fine). The restart of the Subsonic service didn't change anything.
Because Subsonic is new for me, I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong. Could anyone please give me a hint how to solve the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Harry

Hi Harry,

Are you sure that the Subsonic service is still running? Can you check with ps?

Code: Select all
ps aux | grep subsonic

Thanks,
Gregor

Could be memory issue. How much memory do you allow subsonic to use?

Sorry for my late reply and thanks for yours!

I guess I found out what causes the problem: It's simply high amount of files Subsonic has to scan after restarting it. About one hour or so after the restart the server is reachable again. So I better won't restart it so often ;-).

@Exrace: Where can I set the memory size for Subsonic?

The heap size is set in the subsonic.sh script using the following variable:

Code: Select all
[...]
SUBSONIC_MAX_MEMORY=128
[...]
