SAMSUNG TV + DLNA no longer working?

I have a Samsung UN46F6300 TV that I got a few years ago.

There was a time, a while back, when I could get DLNA to work on the Samsung when I went to the media area. But I haven't used it in ages.

I was most recently running Subsonic 5.2.1 and noticed a couple weeks ago that I could no longer get the TV to even SEE the DLNA server (before it showed up with the name "Subsonic" as I had configured it, and I was able to play music). I verified that DLNA was still enabled in Subsonic, but no luck resolving it with the TV.

A few minutes ago I upgraded to 6.0, thinking maybe there were some improvements that could resolve this. But still no luck. Double checked, DLNA/UPnP is enabled, server name "Subsonic", and the TV just can't see it.

Thinking perhaps it was an issue with my server (I have upgraded the OS -- BTW I'm running the universal version of Subsonic on a system running Illumos, openjdk 1.7.0_080-internal) I tried another DLNA client (VLC player) on my phone over wifi. VLC sees the DLNA server perfectly.

I'm also able to use the web interface on my computer and the app version of Subsonic on my phone.

Ultimately I expect this is a Samsung issue, but I'm hoping someone with the same combination has seen this before and can tell me if it's a known issue or not. I half expect that some Samsung update has broken the ability to see general DLNA servers in preference for their own proprietary app (that I can't run on my file server, since it's Illumos....). But I honestly don't expect Samsung to be much help determining that....
