Unable to restart Subsonic on NAS cleanly

Postby billraff » Wed Jan 04, 2017 9:20 pm

Hello all

Looking for some thoughts on whether this is an issue with the code or something unique to my setup.
The issue is that I have to restart my NAS in order to restart Subsonic.

Details:

Version 6.0 (build a7857c) – April 30, 2016
Server Apache Tomcat/7.0.73, java 1.8.0_91, Linux (100.3 MB / 119.9 MB)
Synology DS416j running DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 7

So I am running Subsonic as an app under Tomcat 7. If I have a reason to restart Subsonic (NAS update, Tomcat update, etc) Tomcat cannot shut down
Subsonic completely. In the log I see:

INFO: A valid shutdown command was received via the shutdown port. Stopping the Server instance.

Eventually it appears Tomcat just pulls the rug out and shuts down but it can't start Subsonic up again when it restarts because:

I'd really like to not have to recycle the NAS to get the Subsonic application to shutdown and start up again. Inside the Tomcat admin if I
stop Subsonic it shows as shut down but you can't start it without restarting the NAS.
Anyone seen a situation like this before? Any thoughts/help appreciated.
Thanks in advance
