New install on MAC - Subsonic not launching

Hi there,

I've just downloaded Subsonic to use to stream music from my NAS Vortexbox remotely.

After downloading to my mac, the Subsonic icon appears as expected in my applications folder and launchpad, but when I click on it, nothing happens. I also try running: /Applications/Subsonic.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaAppLauncher.

from the mac Terminal, but also nothing happens.

How do I launch Subsonic?

Also, if this can be solved, do you also know which iphone app is the best to use to play my music and movies remotely from my NAS vortexbox?

Thanks,
Kristin

Did you read the installation-instructions when you downloaded Subsonic:
Mac installation
Download the installation package and run it. This installs Subsonic.app in Applications. Start it by opening Applications and click the Subsonic icon.
A small headset icon will appear in the menu bar. If you want Subsonic to start automatically when you log in, open System Preferences > Users & Groups and add Subsonic to the list of Login Items.
After installing and starting Subsonic, open the Subsonic web page on http://localhost:4040.

When logged in you need to define the mediafolders.
