I just recently upgraded to the new beta(Windows) and now the page will not load whatsoever. I get the following:

HTTP ERROR: 503

SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE
RequestURI=/index.view

My java is up to date and it worked perfectly fine before. I have uninstalled everything and reinstalled. No difference.

You'll probably find logs similar to mine. In my case, it seems the ALBUM table has a constraint where the combination of 'ARTIST' and 'NAME' is to be unique while my database most likely includes an entry where that is not the case. I'm not sure how that might have come to be or why Subsonic 6.0 didn't have an issue with it. (Perhaps the constraint is new.)

I will probably proceed with going through the database and removing or changing any records that might be creating the constraint violation.

You upgraded Subsonic 6 tot 6.1. Beta. I think something went wrong during this upgrade and your database became corrupt.
When you uninstalled Subsonic did you check if the uninstaller deleted ALL folders from your Subsonic installation?
If you didn't, than the new installation wil use the corrupt database again.
I would advice to uninstall Subsonic again. Then check if the uninstaller really deleted all folders. ( Search your C-drive for Subsonic.)
Delete any remaining folders manually and install Subsonic again.
Sadly, in this proces you will lose all comments, starratings, users and other settings that you made.

If you had the same issue as I did, it seems to have been due to a couple of duplicate albums where one instance had the artist name in all capitals and the other didn't. My belief is that the new version of Subsonic is somehow case-insensitive, which makes it more restrictive when identifying duplication.

possibly part of the optimizations to improve searching (esp across 3 diff database engines)?

I upgraded and worked for a couple days and then got the dreaded Error 503/ Service unavailable.

I deleted the db file from Subsonic folder and renamed the backup to "db".
Thankfully, that worked for me and I did not lose all my users/ratings/etc.
